About tree pruning

Good pruning works with the way a tree grows. Albert removes dead, damaged, crossing and overweight limbs, and makes each cut in the right place so the tree can seal it over and stay healthy.

The aim is a tree that looks natural, sits safely over your home and lets light back into the garden, not one that has been lopped or hacked back.

What it covers

  • Deadwood removal
  • Canopy thinning and reduction
  • Clearance from roofs, gutters and power lines
  • Crown lifting over paths and driveways
  • Fruit and ornamental trees

What clients say about Albert

  • ★★★★★
Top job, good pricing, worked well with our neighbours and cleaned up. Had Albert then take on a job at a family member’s property. Happy to recommend and use again.

I used Albert from Trusted Tree Care to prune three trees. He arrived on time on two separate occasions and did a very good job on all three, cleaning up everything afterwards. If you are looking for someone that does an excellent job at a very fair price, look no further.

Questions

Tree pruning: common questions

Something else on your mind? Ask in the form below and Albert will get back to you.

How often should a tree be pruned?

It depends on the species, its age and where it grows. Many established garden trees benefit from a check every few years, while young and fast-growing trees may need attention sooner. Albert will tell you what your tree needs when he looks at it.

Will pruning harm my tree?

Not when it is done properly. Each cut is made where the tree can seal it over, and no more is removed than the tree can cope with. Lopping and topping, which do harm trees, are avoided.

Do I need a permit to prune?

Sometimes. Some councils protect certain trees even from pruning. Albert will check the rules for your property before work starts. See permit assistance for more.
